Hey Teens - Make this school year your best year ever! Make Youth Group a priority to help you grow in your faith and make new friends!  Check back often to find out all the exciting events planned for this school year! Don't forget to bring a friend!

Ever wonder why you're here? Wonder if anyone cares? We do! Be a part of Youth Group and make some new friends and get questions answered! You're here for a reason . . . . and God loves YOU!

10 Ways to Make New Friends

 1. Figure out who you want to be friends with and why you like these people.

2. Get involved with after school activities such as sports, Youth Group or other clubs that interest you.

3. Be friendly and introduce yourself and remember names.

4. Work on good conversation skills so you can get better at both listening and talking.

5. Be sensitive to other people’s feelings.

6. Take compliments politely without seeming full of yourself. Give compliments to others in a sincere way.

7. Take your time making friends.

8. Remember we become like who we are around!

“The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Proverbs 12:26

1. Be willing to risk rejections. It’s possible that someone may not be open to making new friends. It’s still important to take a chance.

2. Be positive and upbeat!

3. Ask your parents if you can invite friends over for dinner or just snacks and to watch a movie or play video games together.

“Do not be deceived, bad company ruins good morals.” I Corinthians 15:33

Fall Letter from Pastor Carey

We've been meeting on Wednesday nights again for a few weeks now.  It's been so good to be together again and to welcome some new people to the youth group as well.  There's definitely room for more, so invite your friends!

Our theme for these first few weeks is "Losers' Club."  We all have times when we mess up and times when we feel like we don't measure up.  Unfortunately, those are completely normal experiences.  Even people in the Bible struggled with the same things we do.  I'm looking forward to talking about some of those people with you.

The good news is that God knows that we're not perfect, but He doesn't reject us as losers.  Remember that nothing "will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:39) and that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" (Philippians 1:6).

We're all works in progress, but God doesn't give up on us!

Pastor Carey

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. I Timothy 4:12
