Plan A VisitWhat To Expect If you are attending our Sunday morning Worship Service, there are several basic things we do: We Sing: Singing is our way of giving praise to God. Join in if you know the songs. If not just listen and enjoy. We Praise God: We often ask people to share a personal blessing that has happened to them recently to praise God. This is completely voluntary, and you are under no obligation to share. We Pray: Our corporate prayers are usually led by the pastor in charge of the service. You will not be called on to pray out loud. We Learn: Our pastors seek to share messages that speak to how we live our daily lives. We believe the answers to life struggles are in the Bible so they will quote scriptures from the Bible during the message. Bible's are provided, so if you don't have one with you, there is one in the seat near you that you can use if you would like to follow along. We Fellowship: Before and after our Worship service we love to visit with each other. Our Cuppa Cafe offers hot coffee, cold water and snacks free of charge. Come and get to know us and stay as long as you like. What To Wear We are a casual church. People wear everything from suits to jeans. It's all fine. Dress for comfort and you'll be fine. Frequently Asked Questions: "What's a Wesleyan?" The Wesleyan Church is a conservative church in the Methodist tradition. We believe in the Bible as God's Word and we do our best to understand and follow it's teachings. "Will anyone point me out as a visitor during he service?" We are always happy to have visitors come to the service, but we will not point you out during the service. We know that some folks don't like to be the center of attention, so we promise not to do that to you. "Will I be called on to pray or do anything during the service?" That answer is always 'No'. We have everything planned out ahead of time, and people selected for those jobs. All you need to do is come and enjoy. "I have trouble standing. Is It necessary to stand?" We ask everyone to stand several times during the service when we sing, pray or read from the Scriptures. If you are able, we would love to have you stand, but this is certainly not mandatory and you will not offend anyone if you are unable to stand. "Will I be able to speak to a pastor?" Our pastors are available after the service if you would like to speak with them. They are often greeting people and many times there are an number of people that would like to speak to them, so if they don't come to you, feel free to seek them out and speak with them. They will be happy to answer any questions you have about the service or the church. "Will I need to give any information about myself?" We really enjoy having folks give us their contact information, but it is not necessary. If you want to come and be anonymous, that's ok with us. "Is there fellowship time before or after the services?" Always! We love to talk and keep up with one another, and we would love to get to know you too. Our Cuppa Cafe is a great place to grab a cup of coffee, or a bottle of water and a snack and to connect with others. We would love to have you stay around and get to know us. |
